If you are intending on working in the immigration consultant industry, the Secretary of State requires that you obtain and file a copy of an $50,000 surety bond. This bond is meant to ensure that you, acting in the capacity of an Immigration Consultant, do not commit any type of financial harm against the general public and provide your services as guaranteed.

The Secretary of State typically requires that this bond be in the name of your business–if you do not yet have a business name, we can write it in your personal name, and you may change this to your business name later through a rider. Once you receive your bond from us in the mail, you must file it with the California Secretary of State.
