The State of Wisconsin requires a Wisconsin Certificate of Title Surety Bond in an amount equal to one and one-half times the value of the vehicle as determined by the department. The bond is conditioned to indemnify any prior owner and secured party and any subsequent purchaser of the vehicle or person acquiring any security interest in it, and their respective successors in interest, against any expense, loss, or damage, including reasonable attorney fees, by reason of the issuance of the certificate of title for the vehicle.

If you do not know how much your Certificate of Title Bond needs to be, you must call the DMV to find out. Surety companies do not know how much your bond needs to be for, only the DMV does. You cannot fully complete our application and we cannot write your bond until the DMV tells you how much the bond amount is.
