The State of Washington Department of Ecology requires a Waste Tire Carrier Bond in the amount of $10,000. Washington Statute requires annual used/waste tire hauler registration which is valid through the calendar year. This bond is to ensure that the principal has or is about to register to engage or continue in business as a waste tire carrier for the purpose of depositing of certain waste tires.
The surety bond is required for all those who are in the business of hauling waste tires and/or owning or operating a waste tire storage site. Aside from the bond, applicants must also submit a Business License application, either online or through mail. The bond is to protect your clients from any harm or wrongdoing by your company. If there is a claim placed on your bond and you are found at fault, the surety company will pay out. However, unlike insurance, you will have to pay the surety company back.
