The Tennessee Tobacco Tax Stamp Agent Bond is required by the Commissioner of Revenue of Tennessee. The bond requirement states that the bondholder, or Principal, shall faithfully perform the duties upon him and comply with all of the laws of the Tobacco Tax Law as well as promptly and properly account to the State of Tennessee for the distribution of all stamped and unstamped tobacco products and pay over all monies, interest and penalties which may be assessed against them for improper or illegal affixing of tax revenue stamps.

What is the amount of the Tennessee Tobacco Tax Stamp Agent Bond?

There is no set bond amount. Agents should file a bond for each separate location or place of business in the amount of $100 for each $10,000 of the tax liability on an average month’s purchases of tobacco. The minimum bond amount is set at $2,000. Take note that those looking to obtain a tobacco manufacturer’s warehouse license must file a $20,000 surety bond.
