South Carolina Motor Fuel User Bond

The South Carolina Motor Fuel User Bond is required by the Department of Revenue. The bond states that the bondholder shall pay all user fees, penalties, and/or interest which may be due under the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976.

What Fuels are subject to the User Fee?

• Motor Fuel: Gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, blended fuel, substitute fuel, alternative fuel and blends.
• Petroleum Products: Gasoline, gasohol, kerosene, diesel fuels, jet fuels, fuel oil No. 1 through 4.

What is the Motor Fuel User bond amount?

The bond amount varies based on the license type. Most licenses require a minimum amount of $2,000.
