The purpose of this bond is to secure the bond holder’s faithful performance of duties, and compliance with all laws, ordinances, and rules, pertaining to the bond holder’s license or any permit applied for and all contracts entered into, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 326.94.

• Completed Residential Roofers License Application and Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Criminal Background Check form.
• Payment of $165 for the license fee.
• Copy of Articles of Incorporation
• Completed Disclosure of Owners, Partners, Officers form.
• Completed Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Criminal Background Check form for each individual listed on the Disclosure form.
• Copy of Certificate of Assumed Name
• Certificates of Insurance
  • Liability Insurance – limits of at least $300,000 per occurrence with at least $10,000 for property damage coverage
  • Minnesota worker’s compensation insurance
  • Unemployment insurance
• Information about the qualifying person. This person must pass the pre-licensing exam before applying for the license.
•  Surety bond form, along with a power of attorney. The amount of the surety bond is set at $15,000. Please make sure to use the form approved by the Department. Also, the surety company issuing the bond must be licensed to operate in the state.
