What steps are needed to become an Energy Consultant in New Jersey?

Aside from a completed Application Form, the following must also be submitted to the Board of Public Utilities. One original and two copies must be submitted.

• Copy of Certificate of Incorporation or Certificate of Formation bearing the New Jersey Secretary of State’s dated filing stamp. For foreign (out-of-state) corporations, they must present a copy of the Certificate of Authority to Do Business in New Jersey
• Copy of the registration of fictitious corporate name
• Payment of $500 for the registration fee, enclosed in certified check or money order

All applications must be sworn, signed and dated by the corporate president and secretary (corporation), member of the partnership and a witness (Partnership), sole proprietor and a witness (sole proprietorship). Take note that applicants may be also be required to complete a criminal history request form.
