The Nebraska Private Detective Agency Bond is required by the State of Nebraska in the amount of $10,000, for all who wish to be licensed as a private detective or private detective agency.  The bond states that the bondholder shall faithfully and honestly conduct their business and comply with the provisions of Section 71-3207, Revised Statutes of Nebraska, 1943, 2002 Cumulative Supplement.

• Payment of fees and background check – $100 + $38
• Two fingerprint cards
• Signed authorization for release of information
• Two passport-sized photos
• Must pass the written exam
• 3000 hours of experience, or 2500 hours with an Associate Degree in the field or 2000 hours with a Bachelor’s Degree in the field
• Surety bond for $10,000

Private Detective

• Completed application form
• Payment of fees and background check – $50 + $38
• Two fingerprint cards
• Signed authorization for release of information
• Two passport-sized photos
• Must pass the written exam
•  3000 hours of experience, or 2500 hours with an Associate Degree in the field or 2000 hours with a Bachelor’s Degree in the field
• Citizen attestation form
• Surety bond for $10,000
