The Mississippi Signs and Outdoor Advertising Bond is required by the State of Mississippi, Mississippi State Highway Commission in order to get a permit to erect signs in the state.

What is the purpose of a Mississippi Signs and Advertising Bond?

According to the 2017 Mississippi Code Title 49, Chapter 23, all persons, partnerships, corporations or other business entities engaging in the outdoor advertising business except persons erecting signs for personal activities or business, which includes but is not limited to the erection, maintenance and selling of advertising space on and along the highways and public roads of Mississippi, shall be required to provide a bond.

The bond amount should not exceed $1,000.  The bond requires the applicant to follow the rules and regulations of the state with respect to the placement, adjustment, and removal of advertising signs adjacent to highways.
