The Minnesota Manufactured Home Installer Bond is required by the State of Minnesota, Commissioner of Commerce, in the amount of $2,500. If you are someone who installs and repairs manufactured homes, you will need to be licensed and a surety bond is one of the requirements you must comply with. Take note that companies must be the one licensed, but there must be a qualifying person who will need to pass the examination for manufactured home installers.
The bond is required to be for a two-year term. The bond shall be filed with the Minnesota Department of Labor & Industry and shall be in lieu of all other license bonds to any other political subdivision as provided in M.S. § 326B.86, subd. 1. The purpose of the bond is to protect your clients from any harm or wrongdoing by your company. If there is a claim placed on your bond and you are found at fault, the surety company will pay out. However, unlike insurance, you will have to pay the surety company back.
Complete our easy to navigate online application. Within one business day, one of our licensed agents will contact you with a no-obligation quote for your bond (the “premium”). Once any necessary paperwork is signed and the premium payment is processed, your surety bond will be shipped to you via USPS Priority Mail (overnight shipping options also available).
