The Maryland Pump Installer Bond is required by the Maryland State Board of Well Drillers in the amount of $2,000.
A pump installer is someone who is restricted to the selection, installation, repair of pumps and related equipment, and testing for well yield. This license is one of the categories of restricted licenses under well driller.
The bond states that the bondholder shall comply with all of the terms and conditions of said license. In addition, they shall comply with all laws, rules, regulations and contracts relating to the construction, alteration, repair, or abandonment of water wells. This includes the installation, alteration, repair, or removal of water pumps, water tanks and/or water conditioning equipment.

What are the requirements for a Maryland Well-Drillers License?
All applicants for this license must have two years of experience as an Apprentice Pump Installer. Out-of-state applicants, need to show documentation that proves 3 years of experience in installing water conditioning equipment. In addition to the bond and work experience, applicants must also submit a completed application form, pass the examination and pay the $75 fee.
