The Kansas Fuel Manufacture’s Bond is required by the Kansas Department of Revenue, Division of Taxation. The bond amount is set at $5,000 or 3 months tax liability, which ever is greater. The bond states that the bondholder will render certain sworn statements and reports. Likewise, the bondholder shall pay certain motor fuel taxes, interest and penalties. Payments are remitted to the Director of Taxation.

A manufacture or refiner, defined under K.S.A. 79-3401, is any person who producers, refines, prepares, blends, distills, manufactures or compounds motor vehicle fuels or special fuels. This is done for an individuals personal use, for sale or delivery.
To be a Manufacture of Motor Vehicle Fuel and Special Fuel you must first be licensed. Complete the license application, provided by the Kansas Department of Revenue.
