The Iowa Mobile/Manufactured Home Retailer’s Bond must be filed with the Department of Public Safety in the amount of $50,000. The bond ensures that the Home Retail Dealer will follow the laws of the state to help protect the consumer. This includes, but, is not limited to, furnishing a proper and valid document of title to the mobile/manufactured home involved in the transaction.
A Manufactured or Mobile Home Dealer is defined by the Iowa Chapter Code 103A, as a person who, for a commission, sells, exchanges, or offers to negotiate a sale or exchange of an interest in a home. If a person sells 1 or more mobile home or manufactures houses in a 12 month period, they must obtain a dealer license.
