A Georgia Bonded Warehouse License Bond is a type of a surety bond required by the Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA) for any warehouse in the state that stores specific agricultural commodities. It serves as a financial guarantee to protect producers selling their goods to these warehouses in case of non-payment or loss of stored products. Varies depending on the type and amount of commodities stored, with a minimum of $20,000 for grain and cotton. The GDA determines the exact bond amount based on the approved storage capacity of the warehouse. The cost of the surety bond is usually between 1% and 3% of the bond amount, subject to a minimum premium and fees of $150. Surety1 will shop its many markets to procure the right price at the right terms.
