The Texas Blanket Building & Construction Bond is required by the City of El Paso, Texas for those who wish to be general contractor in the city. El Paso requires the Blanket Building & Construction Bond to be in the amount of $25,000. For some projects a bond of $10,000 is required. These are for the following:

• Tents in excess of 200 square feet
• Fences
• Patch and paint permits
• Pavement cuts or excavation

Take note that the amount may increase to $25,000 for the above mentioned if the subject work exceeds $10,000 in valuation.

This bond is generally for new commercial or residential construction projects, renovations, or additions in El Paso. The Blanket Building & Construction Bond states that the bond holder and its agents, employees, and subcontractors must comply with all provisions, rules and regulations of the El Paso City Code. The bond holder and its agents, employees, and subcontractors must pay any damages which are sustained by the City or by the person for whom the work is done.
