The Mississippi Designated Agent Bond is required by the State Tax Commission, Office of Revenue for those who would like to be designated agents in Mississippi. A designated agent is someone who has the ability to perform titling duties of motor vehicles and/or manufactured homes for the Mississippi Department of Revenue. The bond can be in the amount of $5,000. The bond states that the bondholder shall faithfully perform his duties as such “designated agent” per the Mississippi Motor Vehicle Title Act.

To become a designated agent, you need to complete the online application for each location. As for the bond, you need to make sure that you get it from a surety company that is licensed to do business in the state.
