The Connecticut Bond for Private Detective and Security Service License is required by the Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection of the State of Connecticut in order to obtain a license in this profession. The required bond amount is $10,000 and runs for a period of two years. The bond states that the company will follow the provisions of Chapter 534, Sections 29-153 through 29-161 of the Connecticut General Statutes.
The state requires that any individual wishing to conduct business as a Private Detective or a Security Service Agent must obtain a license. The following qualifications must be met in order to apply for this type of license:
The state also requires that the applicant post a $300,000 general liability insurance policy as well as a $10,000 Connecticut Bond for Private Detective and Security Service License (this is the required performance surety bond).
To obtain this bond, simply submit a free online application! Within one business day of your submission one of our licensed agents will contact you with a firm, no-obligation quote for the cost to obtain this bond. Once any necessary paperwork is signed and the premium payment is submitted, your bond will be shipped to you via USPS Priority Mail (overnight shipping options also available).
As the license and bond are both issued for two year terms, you will need to renew your bond prior to this two year expiration. Approximately two months prior to your expiration date, we will send you a renewal invoice for the premium of the next term. Once this is paid, we will ship the required Renewal Bond (this is the same as the original bond, with new term dates) to you for you to sign and submit to the state along with your license renewal application.
