The California Pest Control Surety Bond is required by the California Department of Consumer Affairs.
The California Pest Control Surety Bond is also called a Company Registration Bond. Effective in 2014 pest control companies’ minimum for registered companies will be $500,000 for insurance accompanied with a $12,500 for surety bond. A certificate of deposit, in lieu of the insurance and/or bonds, will no longer satisfy the insurance and/or bonding requirement.

In order to do business as a pest control company, the California Pest Control Surety Bond must be on file with the California Department of Consumer Affairs.
The cost of this surety bond to you is a low as $312.50 for three years, based on personal credit. The cost of the bond is subject to approval of the underwriting company.
The California Pest Control Surety Bond states that the bond holder will:
- Fully comply with all of the provisions of Division 3, Chapter 14 of the Business and Professions Code of the State of California; and
- Reimburse any person damaged by the fraud or dishonesty of said Principal (the person or entity that bought the bond) in the performance of any contract between the Principal as a licensee
