The South Dakota Charitable Telephone Solicitations Bond is required by the Attorney General. The bond states that the bondholder will follow all rules and regulations of SDCL ch. 37-30. The amount of the bond is either $10,000 or $20,000. If the applicant would only be soliciting contributions and would not be collecting o otherwise having physical access to such contributions, they only need to pay $10,000. But if the applicant would be collecting contributions solicited and have physical access to the contributions, then they must submit a $20,000 surety bond.
The applications for registration must be submitted no less than 30 days before any solicitation is done. The application must show the following information or must be accompanied by the following documents:
