Mississippi Professional Fundraisers Bond

The Mississippi Professional Fundraisers Bond is required by the Secretary of State’s Office, in the amount of $10,000. The bond states that the bondholder shall comply with all laws and rules pertaining to professional fundraisers. 

Professional Fundraisers are people who, for compensation or other consideration, are retained by a charitable organization to solicit contributions. These may include payment for goods, services or admission to fundraising events. Consequently, those who wish to be licensed as a professional fundraiser must obtain this bond.

How do I become licensed as a Professional Fundraiser?

Start the process by submitting an application to the Secretary of State. To help you prepare, listed below are additional items that you will need to submit. However, take note that all registrations expire June 30th of each year and should be renewed by that date.

1. The Employer Identification Number of the professional fundraiser.
2. Current list of the professional fundraiser’s corporate officers, directors, partners and/or owners of the organization.
3. Signature of the president or other authorized officer.
4. Current copies of contracts with charitable organizations soliciting in Mississippi.
5. Payment of $250.
